BOSS membership, building skills, sustaining community, building together. BOSS is a Women and Queer-centered community makerspace in Tucson where we learn together and make the trades more accessible to our community. Membership helps cover rent, tools, materials, facilitators, scholarships, and the community projects that bring us together. It's also a commitment to keeping BOSS accessible and growing together.

What your membership makes possible: Opportunity to register for workshops and activities throughout the month, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis . We intentionally keep workshops small and intimate so everyone has the space, time, and support to learn, grow, explore. At BOSS, it's not just about learning how to use the tools. It's about having the space and support to discover what you're capable of creating.

Volunteer membership: contribute your time. BOSS is sustained by community members who share their time, skills, and energy to keep our space and programs running. If you'd like to be part of BOSS, but can't contribute financially, volunteer membership offers another way to participate. Expected commitment: 3 days per month or 10hrs, scheduled with the team and tasks based on skills. Your time is a meaningful contribution.

Scholarship memberships are available for community members who need financial assistance, with no volunteer commitment required.

As a BOSS member, you’ll have opportunities to take part in art and skill workshops, apprenticeship days working on community projects, and hands-on learning throughout the month. We build together in the shop, and you can sign up to jump in as the project progresses. Whether we’re working with wood, exploring tools, or building something for the community, there are opportunities to get involved, ask questions, and learn by doing. We also make space for creative exploration beyond the trades, with upcoming workshops like paper mâché sculpture and leatherworking. We keep workshops small, so everyone has the space to learn and discover what we can create, together.
