At our recent board meeting, we established the urgent need to build a comprehensive strategy—not just for our growth as an institution, but also for our response and responsibility in these chaotic times. To support this crucial stage of our growth, we have decided to retain an expert consultant in Board Development for an 8-month period, starting this March and running through October 2025.

As many organizations seek answers during this time of crisis, the cost of nonprofit consultants has skyrocketed. We’re asking for your support to help us fund this specific need with a campaign set at $15,000. This consultant will help us achieve several important goals, including:

Establishing immediate response programming for artists
Developing a growth strategy for our board
Creating an onboarding plan for new board members
Defining board roles and financial contribution models
Enhancing fundraising efforts and strengthening our board’s collective impact

The consultant will lead three group sessions with the board, over the course of 8 months and hold individual meetings with each member to tailor a plan that supports their personal fundraising goals for the Boston LGBTQ+ Museum.

Your contribution will directly support this critical work, ensuring that we are able to weather these challenges and continue our mission of uplifting LGBTQ+ history and artistry.
