OVERVIEW
In partnership with Phambili Sport Impact Foundation, FASI – Football Academies for Social Impact is launching Brighter Futures, a powerful initiative that uses the unifying spirit of football to transform the lives of underprivileged boys and girls in Mozambique through improved health and education.
At the heart of this campaign is a simple but urgent truth: without health and education, children cannot realize their potential. In a country where over half the population is under 18, where 42% of children suffer from chronic malnutrition and most girls drop out of school before reaching secondary education, the need for action is clear.
FASI’s programs are free to participate in and provide what children need most: nutritious meals, access to primary healthcare, educational support, and a safe environment where football becomes a pathway to opportunity.
Every contribution fuels this journey — ensuring that boys and girls can grow, learn, and dream of futures that once seemed out of reach.
THE CAUSE
FASI harnesses the transformative power of football to create real opportunities for children in Mozambique — a country of nearly 40 million where over half the population is under 18. For too many of these young people, the promise of childhood is cut short by hunger, lack of access to education, and limited pathways to build a future.
Through health, education, and football, FASI is building a platform where every boy and girl has the chance to dream, to thrive, and to lead.
PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS
FASI – Football Academies for Social Impact
FASI is a social enterprise that leverages football as a vehicle for positive change, TRANSFORMING the LIVES of children in need across developing countries, starting from Mozambique.
FASI’s mission is to improve the health and education standards of underprivileged boys and girls aged 10 to 18, while nurturing the talent of future football stars. Built on three pillars: 1) Talent Development, 2) Health, and 3) Education — FASI already reaches over 4,000 children through its growing network of community-led academies and programs, implemented in rural and peri-urban areas in one of the poorest countries in the world.

IMPACT OBJECTIVES
Together, the participating organizations have jointly agreed to design these impact objectives, building on the extraordinary results that FASI has already delivered in just over 18 months. Rooted in a shared commitment to health, education, and opportunity, these goals set an ambitious roadmap for the next chapter of growth and impact.
Having already supported more than 4,000 children, our objective is to impact the lives of 25,000 boys and girls. Each child represents a story of resilience, opportunity, and transformation through health, education, and football.
FASI has already provided 30,000+ nutritious meals, often the only warm meal our student-athletes receive each day. We aim to reach 100,000 meals, recognizing that proper nutrition is the foundation for health, learning, and future success.
With over 45,000 hours of education and training delivered to date, FASI’s tailored support spans literacy, math, English, psychosocial care, and employability skills. Our next objective is 150,000 hours, each one an investment in brighter futures.
By 2026, FASI will expand its network of satellite academies to cover all 11 provinces of Mozambique. This nationwide reach will ensure that children from every corner of the country can access FASI’s programs.
With your support, FASI will launch its boarding program, allowing children from across the country to relocate to the capital and access facilities, training, education, and care. Every boarding student-athlete will receive a full scholarship, covering all costs and ensuring equal opportunity regardless of background.
CALL TO ACTION
FASI and Phambili invite businesses, foundations, and individuals to stand with us in building Brighter Futures for Mozambique’s youth. Every contribution directly translates into nutritious meals, and hours of education and training — the essentials every child needs to thrive.
