Brooklin School PTF

Story

Dear Brooklin Friends,

School is off to a wonderful start and our little school is back to in-person learning! The Parents, Teachers, and Friends (PTF) organization stands ready to fully support our teachers, staff, and students again this year.

To succeed in this mission, we aim to raise $15,000. We want you to be part of this success!

This year brought us some unexpected challenges. Brooklin School began remote learning because of the COVID crisis in March of 2020. Our teachers and staff reacted to the challenge with grace, creativity, and positivity; the PTF funded headphones for every child during remote learning and provided prizes and materials for our whole school challenges.

We also prioritized student wellness and expanded the successful backpack food program to meet an increased need brought on by the pandemic. Normally, our Backpack Program supplies nutritious food for 21 children during school holidays and extended weekends. During quarantine and throughout the summer, instead of 21 students, we delivered food weekly to 45 children. The PTF provided for all siblings in the home, high school students, and any child in Brooklin, even if they did not attend the Brooklin School. The cost of this essential program was $13,000.

We are working hard with the staff to provide the children with as many amazing experiences as possible during these limiting times. For starters, we funded large tents for outdoor classrooms. We are pursuing our mission to provide nourishment to our students’ minds and bodies by continuing our Backpack Program on long weekends and breaks. We also are ready to meet the needs of any teacher or staff member who contacts us with a funding request.

Normally, we have a rocking party with the SoulBenders and a silent auction packed with amazing goods and experiences in the springtime. This is our main fundraiser and we raise over $10,000, which typically covers a large portion of our funds distributed for the year. We couldn’t hold the fundraiser this past spring because of the ongoing pandemic and it remains unclear whether we might be able to hold the event when the weather warms again.

We are so grateful to everyone that has supported us in the past! We are asking for your help to raise $15,000, so that we can continue to do the work we do t

  • Support the wellness of Brooklin students
  • Give Brooklin School teachers the tools they need to provide unique learning experiences
  • Be the driving force behind many of the events and celebrations that bring the Brooklin community and the school community together

Please consider donating to our annual appeal. We thank you whether you donate every year or make a one time gift. We will be updating our website and social media pages to reflect where we stand with our goal of raising $15,000. In the meantime, feel free to check out all our work at brooklinschool.org.

Sincerely,

The Brooklin School PTF
