Dear Friends of Brooklin School,

The Brooklin School and the Parents, Teachers, and Friends group (PTF) have always cared deeply for our students and for the well-being of our community. One of the most meaningful ways we show this is through the Brooklin Backpack Program, and we truly need your support.

With the government shutdown, recent cuts to SNAP benefits, and a host of other complex reasons, more and more families in our community are experiencing food insecurity.

The Brooklin Backpack Program provides food for students to take home on long weekends and school breaks, ensuring no child goes hungry when school is closed. In addition to sending fresh food home, we also provide grocery store gift cards so families can choose the options that best meet their needs. Over the years, more than 50% of our students have been part of the Brooklin Backpack Program—often for the full school year.

Children who are hungry have a harder time learning. Your donation helps ease that burden for the kids at Brooklin School.

We are asking for donations to sustain the Brooklin Backpack Program and to continue supporting classroom needs that fall outside the school budget. These funds help provide the tools, materials, and opportunities that enrich every childÕs education. Every dollar stays local and supports Brooklin kids.

We also want our teachers to feel supported. Teachers should not have to buy supplies out of their own pockets. The PTF ensures they have what they need to create inspiring, well-equipped learning environments for all students.

Recent PTF funding has supported:

Fresh classroom snacks so teachers donÕt have to buy food for students
Field trips and hands-on science programs, including multi-day learning adventures
Artist and author visits, including ASL, illustration, and writing residencies
Sports equipment, uniforms, and scholarships that help all students participate
Publishing student writing into professionally printed books
Preschool and elementary classroom materials, from rugs and shelves to learning tools
Supplies for school-wide events and community celebrations

If you arenÕt able to contribute financially right now, another meaningful way to help is through our Warm Clothing Drive. Donations of coats, boots, hats, and mittens can be dropped off at Brooklin School starting next week. WeÕll make sure every child has what they need to stay warm and comfortable this winter.
