Meet Bre'nea, one of our Kelleher Scholars through Big Shoulders Fund.  I have had the privilege of knowing and mentoring Bre'nea since she was in 6th grade.  Bre'nea has overcome many obstacles including the death of her father when she was in 8th grade and the closure of Queen of Peace High School after her Freshman year.  She studied hard and graduated from St Laurence High School last year during the pandemic.  We could not be more proud of her.  Knowing she would need a laptop for college, we gave her one as a graduation present with the permission of her mother and she cried.  I wish I could provide a laptop to tablet to every student in need, but perhaps if more of us donate a little, we can help to Bridge the Digital Divide.
