2020 was a ROUGH year to say the least. I worked through the COVID-19 pandemic as a paramedic in NYC. It was truly an exhausting experience. The world stopped. And so did a lot of resources for education, and the already underserved populations throughout the globe. Before everything got really crazy with the pandemic, I had dedicated this fundraising page to two educators in my life who have helped me become a better person. The first being my grandmother, who is a retired high school Spanish teacher and came to the United States from Ecuador. The second, is Joe "Papa Joe" Braganza, who we lost is February 2020. He was a math teacher at Bishop Ford High School and a paramedic at NYU Langone Health. For these two special humans, charity and education have always been pillars for their beliefs. With everything that occurred last year and still continues , I think this is something that I can do for them to honor everything they dedicated and still dedicate their lives to. My grandmother continues to instill faith, kindness and generosity when I speak to her. Working alongside Papa Joe taught me that all people deserve a chance and that education and humanity does not end in a classroom. It would mean a lot if you would help me raise this money for children in the underserved communities of Chicago. Thank you for your donation and if you are unable to make one, please share!
