The “Footsteps of Mahāprajāpatī Gotamī Yatra” is a sacred pilgrimage taking place December 18–25, 2025, across the deeply revered Buddhist heritage sites of India and Nepal. The journey honors Mahāprajāpatī Gotamī — the Buddha’s foster mother and the first woman to request and receive ordination — along with the 500 Śākyan women who courageously followed her trail of renunciation, helping to establish the Bhikkhunī Sangha and paving the way for future generations of women in the Dhamma.
This event also celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Dhammadharini Bhikkhunī Sangha, marking two decades of dedicated practice, leadership, and service in reviving and strengthening the Bhikkhunī lineage worldwide.
Your support will help dedicated, aspiring Bhikkhunis take part in this inaugural sacred journey — Walking in the Footsteps of the Bhikkhuni Arahants: Honoring the Buddha Mātā.
By giving generously, you enable more Bhikkhunis to walk these blessed paths, deepen their practice, and bring the fruits of the Dhamma back to our communities. Together, we honor the past, awaken the present, and illuminate the future — in the footsteps of those who courageously walked toward liberation.
