Join us at the BFS Awards for an awards ceremony, drinks, bites and community building.
Hosted by comedian Daphnique Springs ('Jimmy Kimmel Live' and 'The Comedy Get Down' on BET).
We will be awarding the following filmmakers:
- Up Next (Narrative): Elegance Bratton & Chester Algernal Gordon (Writer & Producer of A24 film 'The Inspection')
- Up Next (Documentary): Brit Fryer (Director of 'Caro Comes Out' on HBO MAX)
- Trailblazer: Markuann Smith (Creator, Executive Producer & Actor of 'The Godfather of Harlem')
- Day One: Yaba Tuffour (DGA 2nd AD)
- Prodigy: Preston Mutanga (Animator on 'Across the Spider Verse')
- Advocate: Jordan E. Cooper (Executive Producer of 'The Ms. Pat Show')
We will also be announcing the winner of our $9,000 grant with cliveRd.
