Building a Learning Farm & Wellness Retreat
$340K CAMPAIGN GOAL
Where Generations Heal Together
Generations Retreat & Grow Farm (formerly known as Racial Equity and Justice Org.) is building a 24-acre land-based sanctuary in Wabanaki Territory (Maine) where families can connect with earth, grow food, and access healing-centered outdoor programs.
After more than a decade of community work in outdoor education, advocacy, gardening, and racial equity, we are building something deeper. Generations Retreat & Grow Farm is creating a multigenerational retreat and education space. This land includes forest, river access, and a developing orchard, and is being transformed into a space for intergenerational wellness, family development, youth activities, nature-based-learning, eco-art, and community food system partnership.
Our programs bring families together through:
Self Determined Farming & Food - growing food, ancestral growing-methods restoration, orchard care, medicinal plants, pollinator support, native planting, and land-based skills
Cultural Wellness & Eco-Art - healing-centered practices, storytelling, arts, yoga, music, and cultural expression rooted in land
Outdoor Recreation & Nature-Based Learning - hiking, wilderness skills, camping, canoeing, environmental education, and youth development
We serve families who have historically been excluded from land access, outdoor education, and wellness resources.
Right now, we are in a critical phase.
Before we can fully open our doors, we must make the land and buildings safe and accessible. This includes:
• Environmental testing (well water, lead, asbestos, mold)
• Water and septic systems
• Structural repairs and renovations
• Safe gathering and learning spaces
These are not upgrades, they are the foundation.
Your donation helps us:
• Open the land safely to our community and families
• Grow food, pollinators, perennials, and fruit orchards
• Build trails, learning spaces, a playground, and retreat programs
• Serve 50 - 100 families annually in a restorative, rural, nature-based setting
This is about more than a farm. This is about learning from the land, re-connecting with our deeper purpose, healing across generations, and creating spaces where families can breathe, learn, and belong. In 2025, our community helped us raise over $120,000 to begin building this vision. That support allowed us to activate the land, begin farm development, and lay the foundation for programming. Now, we are taking the next step: completing the critical infrastructure needed to safely open this space to families
Call to Action: Let's Raise $340K together!
Help us build a place where healing and land connection can grow for generations.
