About 13thirty Cancer Connect: 13thirty Cancer Connect was established in 2001 by Lauren Spiker after the death of her 19-year-old daughter, Melissa, in 2000. The mission of 13thirty Cancer Connect is to help teens and young adults diagnosed with cancer meet their unique challenges through a coordinated, continuum of essential resources and public advocacy efforts. Started as a grass-roots effort, 13thirty is now an internationally known and respected leader in the field of adolescent and young adult cancer.
