Hi everyone,

My name is Tara Soni and I'm proud to be back for my third year as a part of team Team Blue and fundraise for Alzheimer's research and care.

Since volunteering and fundraising for Alzheimer's and gerontology as part of our sorority's philanthropy in college in 2009, I've learned how painful of a diagnosis this can be for individuals and their loved ones.

One of my favorite parts of BvB Dallas is being able to hear the firsthand experiences of the donation recipients and affected members of the BvB family: it makes our campaign real. The past year and pandemic have been hard on all of us, but especially for our seniors and those in memory care. Due to issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to cancel the game in 2020, but we were able continue to strengthen the community of those diagnosed, caretakers, volunteers and researchers through continued support for our beneficiaries including fundraising and socially distanced car parades at senior care facilities in the local DFW area. This year we are pleased to announce five beneficiaries (learn more about them here) ranging from support for research fellowships, caretaker support, and supporting the Dementia Friendly Dallas initiative. 

I am so excited to be back and looking forward to competing in my second game at the Cotton Bowl this August and fundraising to supporting local Dallas and national organizations to combat what is today uncurable. With your help, BvB Dallas has been able to raise over $5 Million Dollars for Alzheimer’s research and care in North Texas over the past 13 years.
