Beats without Barriers Launch

Beats Without Barriers(TM) is a concert access initiative that creates inclusive, accessible live music experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities through the Foundation for Accessible Music.(FAM) 501c3 pending

Through partnerships with venues, artists, and community organizations, BWB transforms traditional concert settings into welcoming, sensory-inclusive environments to include individuals with a wide range of abilities and differences. We’re breaking down barriers so everyone can experience the energy and connection of live music.

This initial campaign is to amplify the momentum that BWB has already built and support our first phase of programming. Funds raised through this giving campaign will support:

• Artist/Venue Compensation – Supporting the musicians and and local venues is an important part of our plan to make these programs sustainable for all partners in this work.

• Accessibility Supports – We need to develop a broader collection of sensory tools and supports for our events. This includes things like headphones, fidget tools, signage, and interpreters.

• Equipment & Training – Training is a big part of this work.  FAM is excited to build an online catalog of training modules as well as print materials for venue partnerships, staff & volunteer training.

• Professional Development & Outreach – It is important to FAM to engage in ongoing listening to lived experiences and learning from industry experts including members of the disability community & area specialists.

• Marketing & Videography – Seeing is believing and we would like to build a collection of high-quality, professional advocacy and promotional materials, videos, and social media outreach.

• Back Office Setup – New programs, community connections, materials, development, and startup takes time and resources to ensure success. 

• Donor Recognition – We want Beats to ensure a positive and rewarding experience for everyone: participants, partners, and our generous supporters.
