Honoring a Legacy: The 2nd Annual Jarred K. Coleman Memorial Run & LaxFest

Join Spring Lake and Rockford as we honor the memory of Jarred K. Coleman, a passionate lacrosse player and coach tragically lost to a drunk driver in 2018. Jarred, remembered for his infectious smile, unwavering effort, and dedication to mentoring young athletes, poured his heart into the lacrosse communities of both towns.

We're coming together for this 2nd annual Jarred K. Coleman Memorial Run to celebrate his love for the sport and to support the Jarred K. Coleman Foundation, which provides vital opportunities for local youth to experience the transformative power of lacrosse, ensuring Jarred's legacy of passion and mentorship lives on.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, May 9th
Location: "The Yard" (Spring Lake High School – 6140 148th Ave, Spring Lake, MI 49456)
EARLY BIRD Registration (through April 30): *$30/person - Includes T-shirt in your chosen size.
* $35/person: After April 30th & On-site Day Of (T-shirts and sizes subject to availability)

Morning Schedule: The JKC Memorial Run

8:30 AM: Check-in, T-shirt Pickup, and Meet & Greet.
8:45 AM: Opening messages from Jarred’s family, friends, and Myron Molotky, the voice of Spring Lake Lacrosse.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: The Jarred K. Coleman 2.2-mile Memorial Run (or a .22-mile walk to the food truck and back!).

Stick around after the run to celebrate Jarred’s favorite sport and the youth teams he used to coach as the Spring Lake Lakers and Rockford Rams square off in a full day of action across "The Yard."

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: First Game Warm-ups
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM:
- HS Track Field: SL 5th vs. Rockford U12 Orange
- Soccer Field: SL 4th vs. Rockford U10 Black
- "The Yard" (Turf Lax Field): SL 7th vs. Rockford U14 Orange

Game Block 2

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Warm-ups
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM:

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM:
- Soccer Field: SL 3rd vs. Rockford U10 White

Afternoon & Feature Games (all games at "The Yard")

1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: JV Warm-ups
2:00 PM - 3:15: SL JV vs. Rockford JV
3:15 PM - 3:45 PM - Varsity Warm-ups
3:45 PM - 5:15 PM - SL Varsity vs. Rockford Varsity
Special Event: Our K-2/U8 group will play at halftime of the Varsity game!

Food & Atmosphere

We will have a food truck, merch table, concessions and more on-site throughout the event.
