Children, regardless of where they live, should experience the world through cultural programs, hands-on experiences, trips to places outside their neighborhood, and one-to-one mentorship. WTEF helps equalize access to opportunities with innovative program grants that allow schools and teachers to bring experiences to students in the classroom.

More than ever before, parents realize that school is much more than just an education for children and youth -- it is a place to be loved, a place to eat, a place to try new things, and a place to discover who they are and what they love to do. Tax dollars don’t provide funding for all the support children need to become well-rounded individuals; programs funded through WTEF provide the means for teachers to open up the world for children to find their way.

Teachers, who extend themselves personally and professionally to handle a variety of student needs, personalities, academic levels, and learning styles, need to know that the community is on their side, believes in their ideas, and is grateful for their heroism in the classroom. They need freedom, encouragement, and validation to try new strategies to bring the curriculum to life.
