The Desire Foundation (TDF) combats food insecurity in Orlando with dignity-first solutions. Our flagship program, Project 814, operates a retail-style, choice micro-grocery pantry where families select foods they know and love. Beyond groceries, we remove barriers that keep households stuck—help with Florida IDs and vital documents, job referrals, and wellness navigation. Centered in Parramore—a community facing steep challenges, including a historically low median household income (~$16,847) and low educational attainment—our model restores time, stability, and momentum for families, improving diet quality, school readiness, and employability.

Hunger isn’t just about food—it’s about time and stability: the time a child spends learning instead of worrying; the stability a parent needs to keep a job; the confidence required to manage health. Born in 2020 so no one has to choose between dignity and dinner, TDF meets neighbors where they are with culturally familiar foods and wraparound support that translates into better school days, steadier work, and healthier households. Funds raised through this event will underwrite pantry operations, fresh-food procurement, refrigeration and logistics, client assistance (IDs/transport), and volunteer training—moving families from crisis to stability with dignity.
