Leaders Beyond Borders: Expanding Our Impact to Puerto Rico in 2025 & 2026

Building Young Leaders (BYL) is excited to announce the expansion of our Leaders Beyond Borders initiative to Puerto Rico! After successfully launching our international summer camp in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, we are thrilled to extend our impactful programs to the vibrant community of Puerto Rico.

Launching in 2025:

Backpack Giveaway: In partnership with local schools in Puerto Rico, BYL will host a Back-to-School Drive this sunmer. We aim to distribute hundreds of backpacks filled with essential school supplies to support families identified as high-need, ensuring students have the resources they need for a successful school year.

Leaders Beyond Borders Summer Camp – Puerto Rico 2026: We are excited to officially launch our inaugural Leaders Beyond Borders Summer Camp in Puerto Rico in 2026. Building upon our successful model in the Dominican Republic, this five-week camp will provide holistic, empowering experiences for local youth, including:

Full scholarships for all campers
Creative arts, performing arts (including ballet), and cultural exchange workshops
Sports coaching, including tennis and team building
STEM education, Minecraft coding, and entrepreneurship sessions
SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) and career exploration through our Career Ballad series
Nutritious meals and daily personal development activities
Field trips designed to deepen learning and foster cultural connections

All workshops and activities will be led by passionate volunteers traveling from the U.S., dedicated to creating life-changing opportunities for every participant.
