🌞 Our Vision for Camp Sunnie Skies

Camp Sunnie Skies exists to create a joyful, safe, and affirming summer experience for Black girls ages 7-15 right here in San Diego, California — a place where they feel seen, celebrated, and supported. Our vision is to build a camp rooted in wellness, creativity, and community — a space where girls can move, express themselves, build confidence, and explore their brilliance.

As an initiative under Black Women’s Adventure ,Camp Sunnie Skies is deeply committed to empowering Black girls through joyful movement, outdoor exploration, and community-centered programming. Our camp is led by mentors and creatives who reflect the girls we serve, offering a blend of movement, mental health support, art, nature experiences, and sisterhood.

Most importantly, we envision a camp where no girl is ever turned away due to financial barriers.

Inspired by Sunnie and Skylar — the founders’ daughters — Camp Sunnie Skies is designed to uplift the next generation, helping Black girls across San Diego grow into confident, joyful, and empowered young women.

Our total goal is $7,500, which allows us to provide a complete, joyful, culturally-affirming camp experience — at no cost to our girls’ families.
