The Journeymen community has been highly important to me since I was a teenager.
When I was 14, I was given an opportunity to engage in a powerful rites of passage adventure weekend with a dozen other boys my age and over 40 men on staff. It was a life-changing experience to be in a space where all of me was welcomed and I was encouraged to show up fully present. Not only was I challenged to contemplate what kind of man I wanted to be, but I was offered the support of dozens men who had done it before and could lend a hand to help me on my journey. I also learned to accept support and offer help to my peers who were on their own adolescent path.
Fast forward 10 years, and I, alongside life-long friends I made through Journeymen, get the privilege of lending a hand to the next generation of young men. I've found this work to be impactful from all sides, as a boy, mentor, parent, or community member.
I believe that raising future generations of boys to grow into men who have direction in their lives, are compassionate, and possess a deep self-knowledge is extremely valuable.
Please consider giving what you can to help us invite more boys into the circle and encourage them to ask the question, "What kind of man will I be?"
