Early this spring, I joined DAP's Board of Directors and become even more involved with helping their mission of healing the wounds that domestic violence inflicts on families. 

My wife, Kelly and I have been longtime supporters of DAP and I would like to invite you to become one as well.  Kelly and I matched donations up to $15,000 as a way to demonstrate our commitment to the work that they do to heal families and to build awareness within our community. DAP was able to hit that goal in one week. Your new donations will help the people that need help get it and help the people that can offer help deliver it.  

DAP's programs are based on the philosophy that violence and abuse are learned behaviors and that more positive and nurturing behaviors can be learned in their place.  A major differentiator of DAP is that while they give priority to supporting victims, prevention of domestic violence requires treating those who use abuse as well.  Families can't heal until everyone gets the help they need. 

One of the main reasons that Kelly and I are so supportive of DAP are their programs for kids.  They have several different programs for children that are affected by violence that both help them understand that it is never their fault and also helps them develop personal safety plans to help them know what to do.  

DAP is changing and saving lives everyday.  Any amount that you can donate will help them help families heal.

We would also love it if you are able to join us either online or in-person for our fundraiser on October 12th at the Food Building in Minneapolis.  There will be great food and a silent auction including tickets for the Timberwolves and Orchestra Hall, a lobster boil at Smack Shack, a weekend at a cabin on Balsam Lake and many other great items. There will also be several featured guests that will share stories about how DAP helped them stop the cycles of domestic abuse that were impacting them and their families.  Please join us for an evening of healing and growth.
