Fighting Fire with Fire
Thursday 9:00 PM - Wednesday 9:00 PM EDT
Please register as a bidder ahead of time to save your place in the event. Bidding starts at $150 and increases in increments evenly divisible by $50. The bidding schedule is provided in the event details. A limited series of ten signed and numbered fine art prints of Debra Howard’s painting “Working Late” will be auctioned online twice a week [THU-SAT] and [MON-WED] until all are re-homed. All proceeds of the sales will be earmarked for the Rebuilding Prince Street effort.
This painting was done by Plein Air Artist, Debra Howard, during a visit to Tappahannock for the Tidelands Plein Air Event. With her permission, we commissioned a limited series of ten signed and numbered fine art prints to be auctioned to raise funds toward the rebuilding efforts of our town. Ironically, the two storefronts featured in the painting were directly across the street from our gallery and were destroyed in the fire. George Jennings - whose studio is the title of the painting - is a member of the Tappahannock Artists Guild and the chief creator and expert of the Tidelands Plein Air Event, which celebrates its 5th season this October.
All monies raised through the auction of these prints will be donated to the Town of Tappahannock and the Tappahannock Main Street Organization for the clean up and rebuilding efforts for Prince Street. The prints represent a memory of our quaint historic district. Your participation represents the new memories that will made when it is restored.
