The Renaissance Rebels

Small school, big energy — the Renaissance Rebels are here to prove that size doesn’t matter when your spirit is mighty and your trivia game is strong.

Representing Renaissance Middle School, the smallest school in the district with the fiercest creativity, this SIX-person team is competing to raise critical funds for the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE).

Known for pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box, the Rebels bring the same spark to the stage that they bring to their students every day.

 Principal Maria Francisco leads the charge — small in stature but overflowing with bold ideas, boundless energy, and deep care for her students and staff.

📚 Ms. Jordan, the English teacher is a literary star who lives and breathes English — and just might edit the questions before she answers them.

🌍 Mr. Jackson, the Social Studies teacher brings the facts, the fire, and the follow-up questions. Sharp on justice, big on brains — he’s here to make history and win it.

🌟 Ms. Yekeen, Inclusion/in-class support teacher — She’s got the kids' backs, the answers locked, and the patience to handle any trivia curveball. If you think she’s sweet, wait till you see her buzz in!

Ms. Girardi, Inclusion/in-class support teacher  — a whirlwind of energy and encouragement — exactly the kind of teammate who turns trivia into teamwork.

 Ms. Loccke, French teacher adds a little je ne sais quoi — and probably a few très chic answers.

And as if the competition weren’t enough, they’re also facing off against another team from Ren: the Renaissance Revelers. That’s right — the smallest school in the district is coming in double, because when you’re this creative, you’ve got talent to spare.
