Amherst Women's Soccer celebrates the memory of Erica Katz, the mother of Amherst Senior, number 9, Liza Katz. Erica passed away in June, at the age of 51, after living fully and bravely for nine years with brain cancer.

In Erica’s honor, Amherst Women’s Soccer wishes to support and raise awareness for the Erica Katz Brain Tumor Research Fund at Weill Cornell Medical Center which was established by Erica’s family.

As Erica watched Liza grow up on the soccer field and fall in love with the beautiful game, Erica too became a passionate fan. She was a constant presence in the stands at Amherst games over the past two seasons, supporting the Team and the AWS family in any way that she could.

We remember Erica for her sweet smile, her kindness, her unwavering love for her children Liza and Ryan and her husband Ian, and her strength and determination to live life on her terms no matter the obstacles.
