Everyone deserves community. As a nonprofit, Open Social seeks to build and improve access to non-monogamous community. One year ago, we moved to the current paid-membership model to ensure we had adequate funding to continue that effort. In doing so, we also created a financial barrier to entry to our community. Last December, we launched our sliding scale model to give further access. Today, we believe we can eliminate that barrier to entry and move Open Social away from mandatory membership-fees for good.

Thanks to the help of experts who volunteered their services to optimize our finances, we have a clear path to operating exclusively on donations and ticketed events. Open Social needs approximately $26,000 annually to keep the lights on and hold the events we hold today. Currently, membership fees and event tickets cover those bills.

We believe that with a combination of continued optional monthly donations from existing members as well as generous one-time contributions we can cover those costs, eliminate the fee requirement, and create the funds to ensure Open Social is truly Open to everyone!

You! We need your support and engagement to make this a success! Volunteers for events, donation items for our auction and everyone buying tickets for events. If each member today donates $100, we will reach our goal. Our workshop and party will have tickets available for non-members. This is always a great way to introduce a friend to our community.
