Hello! My name is Brooke, and I serve as a board member at the Healing & Justice Center (HJC). It is an honor to support HJC with raising money to sustain the revolutionary work they do as a worker self-directed, BIPOC led, non-profit organization. Their work ranges from workshops and trainings on personal and community wellness and healing, non-violent communication, regenerative conflict resolution, and parent education to housing education, organizing, and advocacy.
I chose to serve on the board at HJC because I believe healing and justice start at home, both personally and relationally within the family system, and in the community. When we heal ourselves and our families, it ripples out into our communities and institutions. When we have equitable access to resources and treat every person with dignity, environments of safety are created, so we can heal and thrive.
HJC's work aligns with my beliefs. They promote individual, family, and community wellness and healing while simultaneously dismantling systems of oppression through community empowerment and civic engagement. Beyond the work they do in the community, HJC is committed to their own personal development and healing and being a model organization for the world they strive to create. In other words, they walk their talk.
HJC'S work is critical to moving our world forward. I hope you'll join me in supporting their work!
