At The Young Talons K-12 Private Academy, we believe in the power of community and the promise of every child. As a division of The Huggins Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to providing for the basic needs of children across the United States—from education to health, food, and clothing. Our current focus is on education readiness. Through our private academy program, we discreetly distribute backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students in need, helping to remove barriers to learning and giving every child the chance to succeed.

But our mission extends far beyond school supplies. We are actively planning to expand our programs to provide children with clothing, food, and medical support, as well as developing The Young Talons University and international Young Talons initiatives. Our goal is to create a comprehensive support system that addresses the full spectrum of needs for children everywhere, ensuring they are prepared to thrive in school and in life.

Our inspiration comes from our founding mentor, a distinguished government official who began mentoring us in the 1970s. He believed deeply in the inalienable rights protected by the United States Constitution 🇺🇸 and understood that the future of our country depended on nurturing our youth—the future leaders, entrepreneurs, and society builders. His belief that every child deserves the basic necessities of food, clothing, safety, medical support, and education to achieve their full potential became the foundation of The Young Talons.

A significant symbol in our journey has been a statue of an eagle with outstretched wings and claws, aptly named "The Young Talons," that our mentor kept on his desk. He explained that the eagle represented his mentees and the broader need to support youth so they can take flight in life. This statue was later passed down to us, and it now symbolizes our mission to provide children with the support they need to soar.

Since our inception in 2020, The Young Talons has remained steadfast in our commitment to these ideals. Our programs are designed to uphold the constitutional rights and freedoms of underprivileged youth, fostering a fair and just society where every child has the opportunity to succeed. We believe that when children are provided with their basic needs—food, housing, safety, health, and education—they can grow into strong, productive, and successful members of society.
