Fall slowdown has hit, and we’re at risk of falling short on key operational costs like rent, utilities, and cat care supplies. Topeka Cat Cafe needs to raise $5,000 fast to keep the lights on, our cats cared for, and our community space open.

With over 520 adoptions in just over a year, we’re making a real difference for cats and people alike.

Topeka Cat Cafe isn’t just a cute hangout — it’s a bridge between rescue and home, between loneliness and connection, and a valuable community asset that brings in tourism to the local economy.

Here’s something most people don’t realize:

💜 Every penny goes straight to our rescue partner, Team Kitten — and we love it that way!

That means everything we do — facilitating adoptions, feeding, housing, cleaning, staffing, entertaining, organizing, and cuddling — is powered entirely by entry fees, bottled drinks, merch sales, and love from our community.

💡 What Makes Us Different

Unlike shelters, Topeka Cat Cafe is completely cage-free. Our cats live, play, and grow in a cozy, home-like environment surrounded by people who adore them. They get daily socialization with other cats, kids, and visitors — helping them adjust beautifully to new homes of all types. The exposure and enrichment they receive here helps them thrive both emotionally and behaviorally.

We’re also the only foster partner, with a commercial location where the public can meet Team Kitten’s adoptable cats without visiting foster homes. This means we help increase adoptions, create better adoption matches, free up foster space, and save more lives — especially for the most vulnerable group of all: kittens.

Our dedicated kitten room for 2–4 month olds is one-of-a-kind in the midwest. Most shelters simply don’t have the space, staff, or resources to care for so many moms and kittens, but together with Team Kitten, we do!

Visitors come from across Kansas and beyond — from Manhattan, Kansas City, Springfield, MO — just to experience the kitten room or to adopt. That brings tourism and joy right here to Topeka’s local economy.

Every day, we receive calls about kittens needing help. That means there is ALOT more work to do.

Without the cat cafe, fewer kittens would be saved, fewer adoptions would happen, and foster homes would quickly fill up.

We’re not just another cat cafe — we’re a lifeline for cats, fosters, and families in our community.
