Sunshine From Darkness is focused on mental health wellness in our community. In 2025, that will be specifically dedicated to youth resiliency in an effort to build the foundation for future healthier community engagement. Proceeds will be put to work in two initiatives next year: • Enhancement of our Blue Door Services emotional literacy for youth which helps with coping and mental health awareness through workshops that include mindfulness, yoga, dance, communication, art, music, theater, and other creative tools. The pilot program launched in 2024 in collaboration with Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota and Desoto Counties — a partnership that will continue — providing participants and their parents resources and guides. • In our continued mission-based commitment to research, our Youth Mental Health Research program will fund scientific research seeking solutions that empower young people with impactful mental treatments. Other studies that will be funded will focus on innovative exploration of mental health disorders. Our team is committed to strengthening resources, expanding education, and emboldening advocacy for those who feel alone, uninformed, and voiceless.
