A South Carolina native, born and raised in the Lowcountry, Megan has devoted her career to a mission that is near and dear to her heart. At 3-years old, Megan was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and received open heart surgery. Years later, she underwent two additional heart catheterization procedures and today faces no limitations. Megan started her career as a sales and marketing professional in the corporate sector before finding her passion and purpose working for the Upstate chapter of the American Heart Association as a communications director. In 2020, while serving in this role, she was named one of GSA Business Report’s Forty Under 40. Megan has been with the Association for 10 years and now works as a national marketing and communications manager driving the organization’s vision of advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. She is inspired daily by the lives impacted by heart disease and stroke and is grateful to share the impact medical advancements have made in her life and the lives of others like her.
A dancer throughout her youth, Megan is excited to dust off her dancing shoes and give back to her community. Megan currently resides in Greenville, SC with her husband, John, and two children, Clark (8) and Collins (6).
