About The Event

Freedom Harvest, now in its second year, was launched in partnership with acclaimed chef and six-time James Beard Foundation semifinalist Scott Crawford, who also serves on the Board of Directors at Healing Transitions. This annual event unites community members and supporters to raise critical funds and awareness for individuals on the path to recovery. This year holds special significance, as Chef Crawford will once again prepare a seated, family-style dinner in celebration of his 21st sobriety anniversary—a deeply personal milestone that embodies the mission and transformative impact of Healing Transitions.

About Healing Transitions

Since 2001, Healing Transitions has been delivering life-saving, recovery-oriented services to uninsured and underserved community members experiencing homelessness. Utilizing a peer-based model, nearly 500 men and women access services daily, including non-medical detox, emergency shelter, a long-term recovery program, and various specialized support services. These services are always free and available 24/7/365. Acknowledging that recovery is often not a linear journey, Healing Transitions welcomes individuals back as many times as needed and provides continuous outreach regardless of the length of stay or readiness for change. Seeking recovery is a courageous act. Our neighbors battling substance use disorders need to know there is a place where they can build hope and empowerment, surrounded by a supportive community of peers. While staff assist participants through the program, it is the peers who decide the next steps an individual should take, facilitated through community discussions.
