This Dance-a-Thon is held in loving memory of Emily, an 18-year-old college freshman who tragically lost her life to suicide earlier this year. Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need to support youth mental health. Through this event, we honor her life, raise awareness, and give others a reason to keep going.

Our mission is to support and expand mental health education in schools and the broader community. Until we are able to implement direct programming in schools, our focus is on raising funds to support existing organizations whose goals align with ours. Volunteers carry out all efforts, and our operating costs are minimal, ensuring that donations go directly to support programmatic initiatives.

Our main fundraising initiative is an annual Dance-a-Thon, and we plan to introduce additional community-based events as we grow. All staff serve on a volunteer basis, and the organization operates with nominal overhead to ensure that most funds directly support programmatic efforts.

Looking ahead, Give Yourself a Reason intends to serve throughout Florida and extend support to families directly affected by mental health challenges. Through these efforts, we aim to increase access to mental health support, reduce stigma, and empower young people and their families to take proactive steps toward mental wellness.
