Hello! My name is Morgan Cheslock, I'm 17 and a junior at Branford High School. I have been with The Shoreline Theater Academy Kidz Konnection since I was 6. I was always the outgoing, loud, and brave kid who was told she was a "Natural Born Leader" even if that wasn't always meant as a good thing. But at The Academy I've found that being a leader can be a good thing. When I first joined I remember looking up to all of the older kids, and as I've grown up at the company for the past 11 years I have become one of the older kids the littles look up too. Not only that but I have found my outlet in the performing arts and The Academy has become my home away from home. Not just because I’m pretty sure I’m there more than I am at my actual house, but the people have made me feel so loved and become my found family and they give me the desire to continue acting and they make it truly fun. I couldn’t see myself without Shoreline Theater Academy as it has truly shaped who I am. Mrs.Laura, Ms.Maria and the rest of my family at Kidz Konnection have brought the best out of me in my darkest times. Through all my struggles they have been there and so has the stage. Little me would never have believed that I would be performing at The Fringe Festival this coming summer with some of my most favorite people. She would have thought the idea to be impossible, as I know I did 2 years ago, but would have been just as excited, eager and grateful as I am. Something The Academy has always tried and succeeded at is making the impossible possible. Working on this project has been no easy task. From developing scenes and characters, managing some fundraisers to creating a piece we all believe represents us, we have all had our fair share of stressful days. It was hard to open up at first, being that vulnerable isn’t something I was fully comfortable with. But once we all started to warm up to each other and had a basis of what our scenes would be about, it became easier and easier each time. This show has helped me make so many new great friendships that I never would have thought I would have. But as we enter our final editing phase and begin focusing on supporting ourselves financially we look to our generous donors, continuous supporters, or someone who just feels the kindness to donate to help us truly make the impossible possible.
