Bretton Gardner's Story

I have been sailing on Lake Champlain since I was old enough to be carried on board a family friend's J-24 in 1984 and settled effortlessly (at least that's my story) into a makeshift bassinet installed in the cooler storage area of the cabin. I am deeply honored to say that there has not been a single year of my life in which I have not spent time sailing and boating on our magical Lake Champlain. I grew up as a member of the Malletts Bay Boat Club with my parents, Mark and Lynn Gardner, and I have been an individual member (now with a family of my own) since 2009. In High School, I was lucky enough to be part of the inaugural Northern Vermont High School Sailing Team (1999) and the second ever graduating class. We sailed borrowed FJ's from MBBC the first year, but LCCSC and the legendary Rachael Miller energetically supported us from the beginning and the sailing center became our second home. I now have 2 kids of my own (2 & 3) and I hope to afford them the opportunity with similarly life altering experiences on Lake Champlain and LCCSC. This project is a game changer for the community sailing center, sailors and boaters of Lake Champlain, and the community in general. Please consider donating to my or any of the other dedicated teams to help see us through this final phase!! Cheers! Bretton
