Hey, it's Lilly! I'm one of the two shop dogs you may have seen greeting people at the front common room. You probably know my sister Poppy.

Thanks to Al, I've enjoyed coming and meeting everyone in the shop since early 2022.

I enjoy how welcoming the shop is. I like to joke that if the dogs are nice, they can stick around, same with humans. We put a lot of work into making sure that we are a welcoming space, with systems in place to support positive interactions that help build community.

It really shows when you walk through the shop, you'll catch people like Kelly and Angela working together to build amazing sculptures in the metal shop, Elvira & Mike exchanging knowledge about wood carving techniques, or Ella & Nova bringing together a new cohort of people looking to explore the Woodshop and Laser Cutters.

Here at Maker Works we welcome both experts and beginners. Regardless of your experience, gender, race, age, you'll find an inviting place to learn, make, and share.
