CALLING FELLOW OUTLANDER FANS TO HELP US ASSIST THOSE IN NEED IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA!

We at Outlander North Carolina have much to be thankful for.

However, thousands in our beautiful home state are suffering beyond imagination. Tropical storm Helene, combined with days of rain before making its way to North Carolina, devastated many areas of western North Carolina. We are heartbroken to see so many of our communities (including the areas where the fictional Fraser's Ridge would be located) virtually wiped out by tumultuous flash flooding and landslides that have not been witnessed in almost 100 years, maybe more. In fact, 25 counties and the Qualla Boundary (the Eastern Tribe of Cherokee Indians Reservation) were included in the Major Disaster Declaration signed on September 29. See the shaded counties on the FEMA map below.

The devastation is historic, to say the least. But we will get through this! As our official North Carolina toast says, "...where the weak grow strong, and the strong grow great," we are witnessing acts of heroism and communities coming together to rescue the stranded, care for those in need, and begin the massive clean-up, and it warms our hearts in spite of feeling so helpless.

We are offering many amazing donated items up for auction as a way to raise money that will be donated to the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina's Emergency & Disaster Response Fund.
