I like to paint the connection between animals and humans. I think it's because growing up I needed the comfort my pets gave me. I try to pass along that feeling of calm and comfort in my work.
My painting, Awakening, is about a fresh start, emergence from the cold darkness of winter and life springing forward. It is one of the signs that the earth moves with life though there has been darkness behind. I hope it brings a smile.
I am honored to support the survivors as they emerge from the dark into the spring of their lives. As my late mother used to sing, "What The World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love".
