October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
I would like to promote the services we offer at Surviving Breast Cancer. All free of charge and accessible anywhere in the world.
What helped me tremendously during this time was the support I found at SurvivingBreastCancer.org.
Now as part of their team, my goal is to bring awareness to our community, on everything related to cancer-All types of cancer.
Using an online platform, Podcast/support groups/newsletters, we interviewed a number of oncologists and specialists around the world (Spanish services) to bring information/awareness about specific topics to our Hispanic community through Despues De un Diagnostico.
My goal is to provide that much needed emotional support through a number of virtual resources- free of charge.
Although, it has been almost 4 years since my diagnosis, exactly 4 years on October 14, 2024, cancer is a lifelong process that extends well beyond surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation. Many continue to face physical, emotional, and mental challenges long after their treatment ends.
The impact of cancer can include ongoing medical follow-ups, managing side effects, dealing with fears of recurrence, and navigating changes in personal identity and relationships.
For many, it becomes a rollercoaster of highs and lows as they try to regain a sense of normalcy and for that reason I ask that you join us on October 19, as we “Tell Cancer to Go Take a Hike!”
I will be in Sedona, AZ as there are many beautiful hiking trails!
Lourdes@Survivingbreastcancer.org
Start time 7am up to The Chapel of the Holy Cross and take pictures up there and come back down. I am keeping it simple. I will be at the bottom gate at 7am and then go up to the Chapel.
"Parking in the neighborhood is discouraged and most likely illegal, but many park just off the road and walk in. You can also park at the Little Horse Trailhead and hike to the Chapel Trail. The Chapel Trail takes you along some beautiful scenery and ends right in the parking lot."
780 Chapel Rd. Sedona AZ 86336 - destination
