Maximizing Hope began July 13, 2020 when Tonya set out with a couple of coolers of ice and gatorade to deliver to folks living under the Oak Knoll bridge in Austin, Texas.

She met Chase and Chad, two intelligent, well spoken, charming, handsome, young men living there and Maximizing Hope was started.

As time went on the realization that "things" were not helping, it was access to services that would help long term. Maximizing Hope works to help stabilize food, identify income sources, help with housing and health care, as well as assistance obtaining government issued documents to obtain identification.

In October 2022 Chad went to rehab; Christmas 2022 he celebrated 90 days sober.
Chase was housed as part of Austin's HEAL initiative -- he currently has a home, a car, and is doing DoorDash!
