juliette pegula's Story

Hi friends and family!

Please consider donating to this important cause that is close to my heart!

I co-founded Chords2Cure 10 years ago when my close friend, Jaxon was battling cancer. (we were in 7th grade)

I'm now a member of the Alumni Board. C2C is a small grassroots organization, powered by teen advocates who are dedicated to raising crucial funds for the advancement of more effective treatments and better outcomes for Pediatric Cancer patients, all through the universal language of music.

In lieu of a larger concert, this year C2C is focusing our on our online and smaller, more intimate backyard concert events. C2C has pooled with other funding sources to help support seed funding on numerous rare childhood cancers like Rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing Sarcoma, Osteosarcoma and Desmond Sarcoma, lately focusing on novel precision oncology therapeutics targeting different inhibitors for these fusion positive sarcomas. We helped fund the infrastructure support for the phase 3 clinical trial of the new drug Nirogacestat for patients with progressive dermoid tumors.

While we continue to support further ongoing clinical trials, this year’s proceeds will focus on further supporting the cancer research lab of Dr. Alice Soragni at UCLA.

To date, C2C has raised over $1.2 million for Dr. Noah Federman’s research at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.

At this year's concert, we are proud to be honoring Peyton Trilling, a high school sophomore and patient of Dr. Noah Federman. Peyton has been battling Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer, for the past 5 years. She has been undergoing intense chemotherapy, radiation and numerous surgeries. After a relapse she received intense and successful Proton Radiation Therapy. Peyton is now back at school where she is the president of the first Agoura High C2C club and absolutely rocking it!

UCLA Health and the UCLA JCCC are ranked #I in cancer care in both Los Angeles and California, and # 4 in the nation, according to a recent issue of the U.S. News & World Report. Since 2014 alone, basic science and clinical studies conducted at the UCLA JCCC have led to the approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of eighteen new cancer treatments. These include therapies for melanoma and lymphoma as well as cancer of the breast, lung, liver and prostate. Often, discoveries made in one cancer type speed progress against a variety of malignancies.

No amount donated is too small (or too big)! Thank you so much for your support!

With deep gratitude,

xoxo
