Friends of the Family

Family Promise of Lincoln County (FPLC) helps local Lincoln County families with children under the age of 18 and/or pregnant, low-income, and houseless families gain stability through our Family Promise Program. Under the FPLC umbrella, we offer shelter (FPLC pays $46,800 yearly for three funded units at Coastal Phoenix Rising, a shelter located in Lincoln City), diversion (keeping families out of shelter through hotels or family/friends support), stabilization (ongoing case management with families entering into permanent and stable housing for up to 5 years), prevention (preventing families from becoming homeless by providing rental supports, landlord mediations, and appeal support for denials), housing( we master lease homes for families that need a little more support before they move on to home ownership, fplc has a couple of preferential asks at 2 low income apartments located in Lincoln City). We also have a Day Center located in Taft where families can rest, shower, prepare food, and do their laundry. At the Day Center, we have a clothing closet, hygiene supplies, and a diaper bank that anyone from the community can utilize. 

 

Our financial needs are great, with the services we offer, we are always looking into funding options that can help support our tiny non-profit through grants, fundraising, and good donor relationships. Our biggest expense outside of payroll is our sheltering cost. We are currently partnered with NW Coastal Housing and their Project Turnkey shelter. We pay $3,900 per month for a total of $46,800 per year for three units.  Paying for our units allows us, as the paying agency, to manage our waitlist and prioritize our families. Any funds that we can collect to go towards our shelters would be great. One of the ways some of the local churches help us is by becoming what we call Friends of the Family. They donate every month either through our donor platform or by mailing a check to Po Box 1146 Gleneden Beach, OR 97388. We also collect can/ bottle donations from the community. Individuals can drop cans and bottles off at our Day Center at 5030 SE HWY 101, Lincoln City, OR 97367. We provide blue bags for anyone who would like to donate to us through this method.
