A little bit of context

The Colombian Amazon boasts some of the world's most remarkable natural resources. However, the indigenous people who live there are extremely poor. We believe that through education, they will improve their lives and live sustainably in one of the most beautiful jungles on Earth.

But there’s a problem

A student of the community schools in the Colombian Amazon may strongly desire to attend school, but, financially, cannot do so. While students do not pay to participate in public school, they must supply their uniforms, shoes, 12 notebooks, pens, pencils, art supplies, and other school-related expenses during the year. Their families cannot meet these expenses.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

The Amazon Pueblo Scholarship Program helps these students attend school. For $140 per year per student, their expenses may be covered. The Amazon Pueblo project will use the funds to purchase and distribute the materials directly to the students. The teachers will monitor the attendance and progress of each student.

As an added benefit, all students attending school are provided free school lunches (by the local government).
