2024/2025 Doan Brook Annual Campaign

Your contributions are essential to our mission of protecting and restoring the Doan Brook watershed. In 2024, we pursued our mission through various restoration projects and 48 volunteer and public engagement events. Highlights included:

• 2,300+ Volunteer hours, $78,000 in-kind value
• eDNA analysis of fish species, $20,000 in-kind value
• Extensive USACE ecological assessment, $235,000 in-kind value
• Maintenance and planting of 75 trees in Rockefeller Park, $98,000 grant funded
• School based educational outreach program, $5,000 funded, $5,000 in-kind value
• Stormwater and sustainability social media campaign, 100s of new followers
• Community events like Family Fishing Day and Take to the Lake, 1,000+ attendees
• Educational hikes led by local experts, 100+ attendees
• Habitat stewardship days and storm drain stenciling with local groups, 36 events

Thanks to your support, we have made significant strides toward our restoration and outreach goals this year. Your investment not only supports immediate projects but also fosters long-term preservation of our natural resources. Our goal for 2025 is to raise $40,000 to enhance existing programs and expand our efforts. We especially need funding to:

• Support operations to maintain a strong staff
• Expand green infrastructure and stormwater management programs
• Initiate a memorial and honor tree program and provide tree care
• Obtain supplies for environmental education programs in watershed schools
• Purchase water quality and safety equipment to bolster our 15-location sampling efforts
• Increase community access to programs by reducing or removing program fees
• Actively combat environmental injustice and work to ensure equitable engagement in underserved and overburdened communities through novel, intentional programming
