The 2026 Kickoff: Investing in Every Athlete

January & February is usually a quiet time for lacrosse fields in West Virginia—the turf is cold and the goals are empty. But at Morgantown Youth Lacrosse, January 6th marks the day we start building our future.

Today, we are officially launching our 2026 Season Fundraising Campaign. We chose this specific date to launch in memoriam of Josh Burleson, a member of our lacrosse family. There is no more fitting way to honor a life connected to this game than by ensuring the sport continues to thrive for the next generation of players.

Building the 2026 Season

Morgantown Youth Lacrosse is growing at a record pace. As we prepare for the 2026 season, our mission is to provide a high-quality, safe, and competitive environment for every child who wants to play. However, as the game grows, so do the costs of equipment, field time, and officiating.

We are seeking to raise funds to support:

• The Equipment Library: Keeping a stock of "loaner" pads, sticks & goggles so that new players can try the sport without a heavy financial burden.

• Player Scholarships: Ensuring that inevitable registration fees never prevent a child in our community from being part of a team.

• Certified Coaching: Funding specialized training and safety certifications for our volunteer coaches.

• Facility Improvements: Securing consistent, safe practice spaces during the unpredictable West Virginia spring.

A Community Effort

This campaign is about more than just funding a sport; it’s about investing in the resilience and character of Morgantown’s youth. By supporting us today, you are helping us build a program where teamwork, discipline, and community pride come first.
