Sunflower Children's Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit operating since 1988 to serve children who have been abused and/or neglected. Every dollar we raise through donations allows us to further our reach to children in need.
Sunflower Children's Collective is made up of the following three agencies:
Sunflower CASA: The mission of the Sunflower CASA Project, Inc. shall be to make available trained volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children and youth who come into the court system of the 21st and 2nd Judicial Districts. Court-Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers from many different backgrounds who give their time to advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system. Our program is based on the principle that each child deserves a safe, permanent, nurturing home where they can thrive. Our volunteers are the difference between abuse and hope.
Stepping Stones Child Advocacy Center: The mission of Stepping Stones Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to provide a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary team response to allegations of child abuse in a child-friendly facility to help reduce trauma to the child while maintaining the integrity and comfort of the child. The CAC responds to allegations of child abuse through referrals from law enforcement and other investigative agencies through forensic interviews and victim and family advocacy. Victim and Family Advocacy includes emotional support for the child and family, referrals for therapeutic and medical services, and court support.
Sunflower Bridge Child Exchange and Visitation Center: The mission of Sunflower Bridge Child Exchange and Visitation Center (CEVC) shall be to provide a safe and structured environment in which supervised visits and child exchanges can be conducted between children and non-residential parents. A supervised visit allows children to have contact with a non-residential parent within a safe, neutral environment. Trained supervisors observe visits between the parent and child. Security is on-site. The Center provides games, books, and toys for use during the visit.
