Our pioneering “farm-for-impact” model puts farmers in the driver’s seat of development.

Our model relies on an active partnership with the community. The community provides access to resources such as mature cocoa farms and uncultivated land, as well as labor in the form of community volunteers. Cocoa360 contributes upfront capital and guidance to participating communities, helping to establish community farms, and developing education and health programs.

The organization maintains an agro-campus, called the Tarkwa Breman Center of Excellence (TBCE), in the Western Region of Ghana. The TBCE includes a girls’ school, a health clinic, a community library, and several acres of cocoa farms. At the Center of Excellence, we are working to dismantle the systemic structures that trap rural farmers in cycles of generational poverty. Our team designs, implements, and evaluates interventions to address two key social determinants of health: access to quality healthcare and education.
