TNR Fund
Our Mission
Bastrop Cats Anonymous TNR Society (Bastrop CATS) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of community cats in Bastrop County, Texas. As a small, 100% volunteer-based organization, we pride ourselves on being a “boots on the ground” group, actively engaging with our community to make a significant impact.
Our Focus: Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program
Our primary focus is on the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, which is instrumental in promoting and facilitating humane and effective management of community cat populations. The TNR program involves the humane trapping of community cats, followed by their sterilization and vaccination. After these procedures, the cats are returned to their original locations.
Benefits of TNR
-
Prevention of Breeding and Disease: By sterilizing and vaccinating community cats, we prevent further breeding and the spread of diseases, thereby improving their quality of life.
-
Reduction in Shelter Intake: Our efforts aid in reducing the number of cats and kittens entering the local county shelter, ultimately saving more lives.
Community Education and Support
At Bastrop CATS, we believe that education is crucial in fostering a compassionate community that respects all animals. We provide resources and guidance to community members, empowering them to manage and care for community cats effectively. Our educational initiatives are designed to engage and inspire individuals to take action and join us in our mission.
Compassionate Care for Strays
In addition to our TNR efforts, Bastrop CATS extends its compassion to stray cats and kittens that are sick or injured. We provide essential medical care to ensure their recovery and well-being.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Our belief is rooted in the conviction that all animals deserve respect and compassion. We are confident that many in our community share this belief and will partner with us to improve the lives of community cats. Together, through education, action, and compassion, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these cats and the community as a whole.
Join Bastrop CATS in our mission to bring about positive change, one cat at a time.
