The Mary Ann and Paul Judy Organizational Excellence Fund

A Message from Board Chairman Tom Manning:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our visionary leader, mentor, and arts champion, Paul R. Judy.

Paul was an incredibly talented man, who was absolutely committed to the success of the Chicago Philharmonic. He joined our board 12 years ago as Chairman and took an active role in helping us strengthen and improve our organization. He fervently believed in musicians playing a strong role in governance and saw the Chicago Philharmonic as a way to further advance the thesis. He had huge respect and admiration for our musicians and every member of our organization.

In addition to his vision for Chicago Philharmonic's musicians and organizational structure, Paul cared deeply about the long-term sustainability of the organization and greater Chicago music ecosystem. He single-handedly spearheaded Chicago Philharmonic's "inflection point" capital and endowment campaign in 2017, which has supported our artistic and community-based efforts and was crucial during the 2020 pandemic.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Paul's family has suggested that donations go to the Mary Ann and Paul R. Judy Organizational Excellence Fund to benefit the Chicago Philharmonic.

We greatly appreciate this thoughtful gesture by the Judy family. Thank you.
