The unique needs of children are best served at the CAC due to our multidisciplinary, coordinated approach to child abuse cases. Our CAC provides victims with the most support possible to reduce any additional trauma, facilitate timely referrals for services, and assures the best outcomes for child victims and their families.

Child abuse cases are extremely difficult for families and investigators. Following a disclosure of child abuse, the family experiences a wide range of emotions and are often unable to process all of the information received from the various agencies involved. They often need support in navigating the multiple systems tasked with investigating these cases and supporting victims. The coordinated response and services provided through the CAC are critical to a child and family’s comfort level, ability to begin the healing process, and ability to participate in the ongoing investigation and court proceedings. The CAC assures that victims and their families have up-to-date information, ongoing access to comprehensive services, and support and advocacy throughout the duration of the case.
