Hey y'all! My name is U-Turn and I am a Counselor at Camp Kaleidoscope this year!
Camp Kaleidoscope is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a community driven by passionate college student leaders that hosts a free week-long sleepaway camp for children who have or had a parent with cancer.
I joined Kaleidoscope because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 18 years old in 2020. Getting a cancer diagnosis is always scary, but it was especially nerve-wracking for me in the context of the pandemic. Fortunately, my mom received overwhelming support from her community of friends and I could see how meaningful it was for her own journey.
Camp is a place where we can all participate in a community of support for these campers and each other! This year, I am so excited to see my campers from last year and to make so many more memories together. So this Giving Tuesday, please consider donating to Camp Kaleidoscope!
Your donation would mean a lot to us! Here is where your donation would go:
$20 - T-shirts for a camper
$50 - Art supplies for Messy Games
$75 - Dance party decorations
$100 - Unit snacks for a week
$500 - Send a camper to camp
$1000 - Fund a camp carnival
If you can't make a donation at this point, help me reach my goal by sharing this page on any social media platform or with anyone that might be interested in helping us out.
Thank you so much!
With so much love,
Justine "U-Turn" Sato :D
