Camp Timbers and the Saginaw YMCA have played a central role in shaping my life. Many key moments can be traced back to these places. My parents met at the YMCA, and I was a camper at Timbers when I was young. Later, I returned as a counselor and, eventually, as Camp Nurse during my transition from teen to adult. It was also at Camp Timbers where I met my husband of 29 years, and together we’ve shared the Camp Timbers experience with our two children. Now, as an empty-nester, I serve on the Camping Services Committee and the Y Board of Directors. Throughout all these experiences, one belief has remained constant: Every child deserves the chance to experience the life-changing benefits of camp.
